Comprehensive in scope, HORIZON utilizes a strong interdisciplinary approach in the treatment of co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse problems.

Horizon is accredited by CARF for Children and Adolescents for Integrated Alcohol and Other Drugs and Mental Health in the following areas:
• Outpatient Treatment
• Residential
• Case Management/Services Coordination
• Detoxification

Our team of mental health and substance abuse professionals work together to provide individualized treatment. We integrate a traditional twelve-step model of treatment, mental health counseling and an outdoor adventure program to provide adolescents a holistic approach toward their recovery. The treatment process is designed to provide adolescents with the skills necessary for successful recovery from their co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse problems.

OUR GOAL is to help adolescents achieve a productive life, free of mental health and substance abuse problems.

FAMILY PARTICIPATION is required as the adolescent's problems affect all family members. Intensive family involvement, followed by ongoing family therapy, is critical for successful treatment.

RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT consists of approximately 48 to 90 days followed by continuing outpatient care.

OUTPATIENT TREATMENT is provided to individuals, families and groups.

CASE MANAGEMENT/SERVICES COORDINATION is provided to assist the adolescent and family in securing services, both internal and external to Horizon.

SOCIAL DETOXIFICATION is provided based on the needs of the adolescent.

EDUCATION is a crucial part of treatment. Our certified teachers provide individualized education in the classroom in coordination with the individual resident's school program. The pre-GED program is offered for those residents currently enrolled in her/his hometown. Horizon's education program is licensed by the Arkansas Department of Education.
